Trading
Yesterday I tried to sell a few items in Lion’s Arch. It is no secret that the chat there is too flooded and the game needs a new trading system.
Here is my idea:
A system that allows every player to designate certain items “for sale” and put a price on them. In certain “trade” areas other players can click on the player and see what he has for sale and buy it directly or whisper him to barging. Now this isn’t going to relive much of the chat flood but it would be an easier way to do trade. The second thing to this system would be a trade rank for each player (or if the player wants to have such a rank he has to buy an in game trader permit). This way players who sell at fair prices and sell a lot of items will have a high trade rank, and will do more business and other players will know where to look for a good deal. The ranks can be funny words like “cheapskate” or “capitalist” stuff like that.
This system will still require some bargaining skills form the players and I think it will be fun and will run better.
Minor ideas in addition:
- an instant massage similar to guild announcements that states what the player has for sale and is triggered every time the player enters the trading area. Something like “Selling all kind of shields and swords, at all kind of prices. No returns, no refunds. If you brake it you buy it”
- console commands that return the name of the players that sell certain items. Example “/need shields” returns the names of all players how have designated that they sell shields.
So what do you think?
